In our efforts to improve the process of Registering our customers with Spark Energy, we have invested in a new Data Flow Management System. This allows a quicker and more streamlined process enabling us to ensure that the time taken to appoint the Industry Agents (DA, DC and MOP) and provide a ‘live’ supply is reduced. The data used within the Electricity industry is transferred through the means of an electronic data flow recognised by the Industry Agents (DA, DC, MOP).
These three agents are the primary agents involved in the process of installing meters (MOP – Meter Operator), recording readings (DC – Data Collector) and calculating the energy usage in a particular regional area (DA – Data Aggregator).
The DC, having recorded the reading, provides the details to us, thus enabling us to provide the customer with their bill in a timely and more efficient manor.

LetMC is a great fit with Spark Energy. They are constantly striving to improve and streamline the business process for their clients by providing a bespoke utilities report which feeds directly into our systems.
Automatic reports removes the human element which reduces the margin for error as it doesn’t rely on someone remembering to send the information on a regular, ongoing basis . Therefore saving time and improving efficiency of data transfer overall.
If you are interested in working with Spark Energy and at the same time updating or changing your software provider please send an enquiry to us and we will be happy to put you in touch.

We’re delighted to be involved for the 3rd year running in the upcoming Regional Meetings organised by ARLA / NAEA for the benefit of their local and national members. Our Business Development Managers will be on hand to talk to attendees about our unique utilities management service for the lettings and property management market.
We constantly review and improve our service to tenants and agents so this is a great opportunity to spread the word about Spark Energy but also to understand the complaints and issues which agents and tenants experience when managing utilities ‘in house’ and dealing with the ‘big 6’.
Already confirmed:
Tuesday, 29th September at The Coach House, Chilworth Manor Hotel in South Hampton where we’ll be joined by Lucy Morton, President of ARLA

We’ve just made one happy customer even happier by informing them that they’ve won £250 and all for choosing the smartest way to pay!
We run a competition every quarter to encourage customers to move to paying by Direct Debit. In addition to the standard benefits (saving on average £200 a year, avoiding large balances building up and ensuring easier account closure at move out) customers changing to Direct Debit are entered into a prize draw and one lucky winner is picked each quarter.
The winner this time was Thomas Wright. He received the call from Debbie in our billing team today and said ‘Thank you. Im delighted to get some money back from my energy company. What a pleasant surprise!’.
If you want to move to Direct Debit payment – and who wouldn’t given the huge savings on offer! – simply download the mandate by clicking ‘pay by direct debit’ on our homepage. Post it back to us and perhaps we’ll be calling you next time!

Spark recently held an internal competition to name our innovative Smart Meter project. Liam Scott from the billing team came up with the name ’SMARTICUS‘ and he won a vintage bottle of wine from our CEO PJ Darling. Congratulations Liam!
Spark Energy Ltd is rolling out state-of-the-art smart meters across its customer base starting in 2009 as part of an initiative to encourage greater energy efficiency and improve customer service.
Smart meters communicate directly between the supplier and the consumer, allowing consumers to see how much energy they are using and how much it costs when individual appliances are turned on as well as providing accurate remote meter readings which means no more estimated bills.
If you would like more information on smart meters, please contact our CS team on 0845 869 4002 (option 1)

Following feedback from new customers saying that they didnt get any information on Spark when they moved into their property and didnt know who we were, I have been working on improvements to our tenant handout. I’ve just received the printed stock and they look great. We’ve now included more information on who we are as well as answers to the most frequently asked questions. The main benefits of our service are right at the front and cover:
- Easy- One less thing to arrange when you move in and less hassle when you leave.
- Service- Access to a dedicated tenant team, on the phone, in the UK.
- Price Promise- We guarentee to match or better the ‘Big 6′ standard tariffs.
- Green- Over 15% of our electricity comes from renewable sources and we aim to get to 100% by the end of 2009.
- Little extras- Free cinema passes with every statement.
Tenants should be given a handout from their letting agent when signing their lease. If you didn’t get one you can view it here link http://let-suite.co.uk/files/Corp%20tenant%20handout-290709.pdf

As an energy company we pride ourselves in listening to our customers. We see our Customer Services department as our window to the customers and therefore want to ensure this department exceeds industry standards in performance, development and delivery.
This has been largely achieved through the implementation of an upgraded call management system, training of Customer Services agents in related business areas such as billing etc. additional resources and performance management.
