Dec 05, 2014 by Spark Energy
Spark Energy, the specialist energy supplier to residential tenants, has been named as one of Britain’s fastest growing private companies in the prestigious Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table for 2014.
The table, in which Spark is placed at number 23, highlights the 100 private companies that have had the fastest-growing sales over the last three years.
Spark, the only UK energy company specialising in the lettings and rental market, now employs over 220 people in its Selkirk headquarters and now provides good value gas and electricity to over 120,000 homes.
The company has had an annual sales growth of 97% over the last three years, and made it's second consecutive profit this year. It forecasts continued substantial growth in the next few years, with turnover in the coming year forecast at £130m.
CEO Chris Gauld (36) said: “It’s fantastic to see Spark recognised in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100. I read the supplement with great interest every year, and it has been my dream to be included. Now thanks to the efforts of our wonderful and hard-working team we have been named at number 23. To be identified and included is a massive confidence boost and recognition of what we have achieved in the last three years.”
The 18th annual Fast Track 100 awards dinner will be held at the Oxfordshire home of Sir Richard Branson’s family on April 29 next year.
The Fast Track 100 accolade comes only two weeks after Spark was identified amongst the 60 fast-growing young European businesses by Silicon Valley Comes to the UK (SVC2UK), which annually chooses companies to join its Scale Up Club.
