Spark Energy refresh prepayment tariff
Aug 30, 2013 by Spark Energy
Spark Energy is a fresh alternative to the ‘Big 6’ energy suppliers. Their focus is on providing good value gas and electricity to tenants in rental properties across the UK.
The nature of the rental market means that many properties have pre-payment meters installed and customers pay by topping up a key at their local PayPoint outlet. This month Spark announced details of their new pre-payment tariff which comes into effect on 1 October 2013.
Although wholesale and distribution costs continue to increase, the good news for Spark customers is that by introducing monthly discounts equivalent to £9.50 for dual fuel users and £4.75 for electricity users, Spark customers still remain on the cheapest overall pre-payment meter tariff the UK even with unit rates increasing.
Kris Jakobsen of Spark Energy said “we’re committed to giving our customers the best possible deal on their energy. Our new pre-payment tariff offers users the cheapest overall pay-as-you-go deal in the country, meaning our customers have more money in their pocket at the end of the day. Because we focus on tenants, customers can redeem their loyalty discount after 12-months or at the end of their tenancy, whichever is sooner”.
William Russell from Spark’s Customer Services team said “We’ve recently introduced online chat and a free call-back service to help save customers’ time and energy. I’d encourage customers to get in touch with us if they have any questions about the new tariff.
