Spark Energy, the specialist utility company built around the home move sector, opened its £3m fund that supports its most vulnerable customers through the Warm Home Discount scheme.
Applications are now open and Spark expect to help around 20,000 customers with payments of £140 towards their fuel bills.
In addition to applications taken on its website and through its call centre, the company will work with the Department of Work and Pensions to identify customers who might qualify for the incentive before automatically crediting their statements
Spark Commercial Director, Ian Crowther, said: “After successfully helping thousands of customers last winter, we’re delighted to open this year’s fund providing £3m to help our most vulnerable customers.
“With an increased spend of £1m from last year’s contribution, the Warm Home Discount benefits around 20,000 customers. Winter can be a challenging time for those who struggle to meet their utility bills and we’re delighted that Spark can assist in keeping thousands of our customers safe and warm.”
